Recently a new government has been announced in Telangana. Congress has formed the government in Telangana and Revanth Reddy has been made the new Chief Minister. Till now Telangana was called TS as an abbreviation. But now the new Chief Minister of the Congress government has decided to change it. Now Telangana will not be called TS but TN. And an announcement for this has also been made in the gazette. From now on, TN will be written instead of TS on the number plates of vehicles plying in Telangana. The state government has also announced this.

After becoming a state in 2014, TG was a deviation.

In the year 2014, when Telangana got the status of a separate state. Then the TRS government there had decided to keep TS as an abbreviation of Telangana. The new Chief Minister of Telangana had also said during his election campaign that he would change the TS deviation. The minister of his government said about this that the previous government had not followed the rules to keep deviations. Now we are fixing it. From now onwards vehicles will be registered as TG.
